"The Sign" is a single and track from the 1993 album, "Happy Nation/The Sign", by Swedish pop group Ace of Base. The album, "Happy Nation", was a huge international success, selling over 23 million copies worldwide; however, the initial release did not include the big hit "The Sign". The North American release of the album, retitled "The Sign", did include the song, as well as the 1993 European re-release of "Happy Nation U.S. Version".
"The Sign" was written by Jonas Berggren and released in 1993 on Arista Records. It was an international hit, reaching #1 in several countries, including the U.S. New Zealand and Germany, among others.
The music video was directed by Mathias Julin.
