  • I meant that

  • @1hitknockoutnoob Ours did that also and the puppies were fine. I know they didn't seem to like it though. I don't know why the mother's want to lay on their puppies like that. Sometimes if the puppies cried out like they were hurting, we would try to move her to the side of them. Mother dogs can be stubborn sometimes, lol.

  • @Akalliecat One final question, She seems to lay down ontop of them alot. And when we tell her to get up and move, she either wont listen or growls. Is it ok for her to just lay ontop of them? The puppies don't sound like they enjoy it too much.

  • @1hitknockoutnoob That is great that they are all healthy and nursing! Yes, $150.00 sounds very reasonable. We had the same situation and that is what we asked for our puppies and we had no problem getting that for them.

  • Yeah, The father's a black one. They all seem to be nursing fine now, and the the vet says their all 100% healthy! She had 9 girls and 4 boys.

Also, The mother is a purebred with papers, And the father is a purebred with out papers. Do you think $150 a puppy sounds reasonable?

  • @1hitknockoutnoob Wow, 13 puppies is a lot! Aww, that is sad that one died though, it usually seems like that happens. Was the father a black lab? Sometimes you have to help them with the sacs until they do get the hang of it. I think that they puppies should be fine. We were worried also at first as we thought the same thing, that they were not nursing enough. They did just fine though, although sometimes my husband would lay our female down and hook the puppies up to be sure. Congrats!

  • @Akalliecat She had 13 puppies, All black labs. One died :(. We had to help her get the sacs off the first 3, but then she got the hang of it. But now im concerned because they dont seem to be nursing enough, and when they do start to nurse, she'll either kick them off or get up and move. We're going to get there dew (Spelled wrong?) claws removed today, and im hoping the vet will tell us what to do and if they're nursing enough.

  • @1hitknockoutnoob Hi. I did just let her do everything unless she needed some help. You will be able to tell. She did have a litter where we had to help her a little with removing the sacs from the puppies, but other than that, she did just fine. If it is cool enough in the garage, I would say it is ok for her to have the puppies out there and maybe keep showing her the whelping box that you sat up for her and when she shows signs of going into labor, take her out there. They are so sweet!
