[HD] Airbus A380 of All Nippon Airways at Haneda airport

This is a composite special effects shot of an All Nippon Aiways A380 (which does not yet exist, although I am hoping to see the real one in the near future :-)

How it was done:
3dsmax was used to render the 3d model of the A380 texturized with the actual All Nippon Airways corporate design and output it as a *.png with alpha channel. This still image was then overlayed onto the background video in Sony Vegas Pro 8. Color correction of the blue tone had to be applied to perfectly match the B747 in the background. The lamp posts and other static objects were statically masked out. Two moving buses had to be masked out applying dynamic masking with keyframe interpolation.

It'd look much better if you added a brightness layer to the A380, it seems darker than everything else.

Thanks for the comment. I did a lot of tweaking already. The main issue is to create a realistic soft shadow which would also "soften" the darker areas.

3dsmax was used to render the A380 3d model and Sony Vegas Pro 8 was used to put it all toghether (static, dynamic masking an color correction) -> check out "View details" for more info :-)...oh and I used Adobe Illustrator CS for creating the ANA texture.

for MAC?

I use XP. There is no MAC version of Sony Vegas as far as I know. Final Cut Pro for MAC has more functionality anyway. As for 3dsmax, there may be a MAC version.

So Sweet! Very good. Now do a diffused brightness layer to tops of the airliners and remember to be subtle. This is excellent work. I've been doing CG since 1993 and I continue to be amazed at how good the technology is improved over the ancient and cumbersom $45K applications we were using that could only run on $80K Silicon Graphics workstations. Amazing!!!

I wonder if ANA will eventually order the A380. They expressed quite a bit of interest in it before the recession took hold.
