This all-new production features recent digital video shot with a Canon Digital Video Camcorder, equipment on loan to me from Finatic. Thanks Fin!

This footage was recorded on Thursday, November 22, 2007, while visiting my Grandmother at her apartment in Dover, Tennessee. In this clip, we take a look at my Grandmother's 40 year-old toaster. This is the only toaster she has ever owned. It is a Western Auto branded toaster and it was purchased at Watson's Western Auto in Dover.

This video was captured from the DV cassette using Pinnacle Movie Box+USB. The video was editied with Vegas 7. The credits were created with Windows Movie Maker.

  • 500$...

  • @Akrombio Higher!

  • I have a Astra by toastmaster 4 slice model D132.Any idea how old it is.I think from early 70's.Also can heat elements be replaced?people say just buy a new one.I don't want a new chinese junk toaster that will burn out in 2 yrs.I bought this toaster at a rumage sale 26 yrs ago. one element went out on left side.can it be replaced?

  • @smithdsmit Nice rummage sale score. I do believe that the element can be repaired or replaced, but I am not an electrician or a fix-it man, so you should seek a professional opinion. Thanks for viewing.

  • I have a Sunbeam toaster that was manufactured in July, 1956. (I know the date because I opened it up once to fix it, and the date is stamped inside). It still works great. It's heavy as lead - real American made old-time quality. It has out lasted 3 toaster ovens that were just toss away junk.

  • @danders76 That's awesome! That old saying "They don't make 'em like that anymore" sure is true when it comes to toasters. Thanks for viewing, I appreciate your comment.

  • excellent archiving of a machine that stands the test of time .... it takes a licking and keeps on ticking

  • That is quite the toaster...it's too bad things don't last like they did for the previous generations.

  • I put it on the lightest setting.

  • Why does it seem to not be toasted? D:

  • As someone else has stated, it's a brave little toaster. Thank you for viewing and for leaving a comment. I appreciate it.
