@DeLoused777 I disagree. I feel that Sparta took a more alternative rock approach, similar to a more modern punk which was more than apparent in ATDI, while The Mars Volta took the more traditional route with the spontaneous energy ATDI had with Cedric and Olmar.
The way I think of it, both were components of one amazing band. One was peanut, the other was jelly. Some people like it together than separate, but they are still two entities to appreciated for, at the very least, who they were.

lol you may hate atdi for their music or cedric's voice but you gotta admit they really make it worth it for the audience
you see a band on stage apparently having more fun than you do is just wtf entertainment because usually it's like 50% job like i gotta do this right 50% fun but atdi... fucking 110% fun i dont give a shit if i made a mistake improvise

i love how they can fuck shit up live and be soo energetic but when they start napoleon solo they all chill out and play it really good.its like they r paying their respects for cedrics friends. napoleon solo always brings out the best in cedric.
i would kill 10 men for a chance to see these guys live one last time
