This is a special request from subscriber RNURSEWOODS who asked for a beach vid.

Ko'olina is located on the southwest side of the island of Oahu. There are 4 man made lagoons bordered by rocks at the mouth of each lagoon. It makes for tranquil waters, great for toddlers and little kids. Each lagoon has public access, but parking is hard to come by and the parking is on private land. The lot attendants will turn you away if there are more than 1 vehicle waiting. I've waited no more than 20 minutes...sometimes I get luck and only have to wait 5 minutes.

The Ko'olina resort hotel is one of the best I've stayed at and you have full access to the beach without parking worries.

The construction you see is a new Disney themed hotel. Not sure what the opening date is slated for. I'm sure the wife and I will have a staycation when they open.

The other buildings are condos and timeshares.

I also test the Kodak playsport waterproof feature. I was looking for some fish to video, but found nothing. There's usually some baby fish swimming or crabs on the rocks, but not today. The pics are from the playsport, but was on the underwater function in the on position. You can see it's a little washed out. I will try to leave it on regular position because the pics come in nicer.

  • But there is no waves there, a beach has to have waves..go down the street to Nanakuli.. I caught some of my best waves there at Tracks.

  • @Waverip11 Kiddie waves for the kids. =) I don't know the last time you've been, but Nanakuli is now mostly homeless tents on the beach. Pretty sad. Not so safe anymore.

  • @TheHomeDefender I know it was like that when I was there. It is sad but I never had problems there and the people were always kind to me. I was always humble and showed everyone respect. I worked at Carehawaii as a case manager for the mentally ill. I knew a lot of people on that side. Makaha was also one of my favorites.
