@CPSJSMSUUMUGA wow. i wuz 2 young when rising and devils and dust came out (im only 13) 2 see him live but i saw him once on the seeger sessions, twice on the magic tour, i saw him at Pete Seeger's bday concert, and once on Working on A Dream.
@TheJohnny990 I know. I was being sarcastic. I saw nine Reunion shows, nine Rising, three Devils and Dust, one Seeger, five Magic, and five Dream.
The decade from 99 to 09 were the most prolific of his career and included some of his most briliiant music. Over the last (almost) 40 years, *NO ONE* has matched the level of excellence writing songs, recording, and performing of Bruce Springsteen.
@CPSJSMSUUMUGA he's still popular today, 4 new albums (5 if you count We Shall Overcome 6 if you count The Promise) great shows. he always had alot of good songs(in my opinion) and his first album came out in 1973. He's gonna be 62 in semptember. He's not as popular as he used to be but neither is any artist from that time
@CPSJSMSUUMUGA Hes 61...he wrote more than "a few good songs" too. He sells out stadiums wherever he goes today. What artist or band has had inspiration to write their best music for 40 years?
@TheJohnny990 Pretty successful? I guess, but that doesn't mean he's good, does it? I mean, he wrote a few good songs in the 70s and 80s, and maybe put on a few good shows, then sucked in the 90s, but what about the 00s? Any new good songs or good concerts or renewed popularity?
I mean gees, his first album was something like 45 or 50 years ago. What is he, 75? Right?
Really cool. I'd like to hear more Springsteen covers. He became kind of became passe' in the 90s, uncool, partly, because of his enormous commercial success.
But frankly, he is so talented, his influence so ubiquitous, he pretty hard to ignore.
