Murphy sneaking up to his water

So, our dog, Murphy, sneaks up to his water bowl all the time. He also hates cameras so we can never catch him (which is why I turned the camera down when he looked back), but this is his longest sneak yet. and we caught it.
I've never heard of a dog doing this, is it common?
