@DAngelo136 Bill Biery passed away in 1987.

@Felineblood Boy did you hit the nail on the head- I had the same experiences! They were simpler times. I used to go over my cousin's house to see the Wizard of Oz once a year because we didn't have a color tv and he did!! LOL
-
We were all sitting in different rooms watching the same thing...lol Don't forget, in NY/NJ, TV consisted of 7 channels not a few hundred and it was all free, so we were all on a similar page/channel if you watched TV.
Basically, TV consisted of Channels 2, 4,5,7,9, 11 and 13, or wcbs, wnbc, wnew, wabc, wor, wpix and wnet. That was it but it was always entertaining.
I ditched TV and cable in 2001 so everything after that, I've never seen.

anyone knows whatever happened to the v.o. man Bill Biery who had the children's show "Beachcomber Bill" in the 60's?
-
@Permaglo LMAO! Talk about shoestring budget.

In the 70's, a Brazilian broadcasting (TVS, now SBT) used a copy of this, the same music, the same spinning columns, just the words changed to portuguese.

Translation for the below post: "In addition to a version of this vignette has been used by the former TVS Rio de Janeiro, I learned that another version also aired on TV Record, São Paulo, at the time Silvio Santos sent along with the Machado de Carvalho. Who has that of Record?"
-
I remember being at my Grandma's house watching tv in the "tv" room and all the adults were around the dining room table eating cake and drinking coffee..God do I miss those days! This TV intro sure brings it all back..just like sitting at Grams
