  • @Ragnar06 Haven't you heard that the Norsemen who became seasick went ashore at the Faroe Islands, and the rest continued to Iceland...?

    I love this song, my father used to sing it to me. Have never heard the whole story before, in Norway we stop when they leave: "Vundo dei upp sine silksegl, vinden å taka i fanget, så er det sagt at kongen sjølv han styrde Ormen Lange." The melody is also slightly different.

  • @dansktpjatt The surname 'Kamban' most likely comes from the same root as the modern Irish/Scottish surname 'Campbell' (gaelic Caimbul).
