  • Liston this clip comes from ETV & has been played how many decades and yet no body contested its composition. What are you talking about abaya? Bad habit we don't know how to appreciate a master piece that was created by talented artist. Did you do anything to promote the true walayta in your way? Are you an artist or do you have any idea about art? Just appreciate the artist for promoting all ethiopian culture and music. simplest reasonable thing to do. ayseru wey ayaseru. Backward old habit..

  • I disagree with the purists’ opinion which is against any form of evolution of Ethiopian music. Mulatu Astatke is like the French poets Rimbaud or Verlaine full of illumination and creativity and too advanced to his time. In this version of Welaita, improved and enriched by the magic of the musical fusion (traditional & modern), it’s simply a master piece! Too bad for my friends who are still not sensitive enough to feel the sound of the music, universalized!

  • i hate u gays who naming somebody in your f mentality bla , bla .... this is not " joint ." dumb , this is an art .

  • @lakeabaya

    R u sure abaya ?

  • With all due respect to you mr Astatke. this interesting jazz got nothing to do with the beautiful wolayta culture. The singer duped you big time because he speaking some gibberish and calling it wolaytigna. I was surprised by the fact that the legendary singer doesn't do his homework. And yet is very proud to advertise about it in five continents. Ethiopia is having it tough as is and here you are inventing one more ethnic group complete with its culture. Very funny and interesting.

  • love it....

  • Hell yeah...Mulatu stands out in the way that you can't forget him. Best of ethiopia!!
