  • my first time hearing mahlers 5th and at 2:07, i stopped studying and actually heard the 20th century. . .

  • @Rehtor And do you know that Leonard Bernstein was buried with the score to the 5th on his chest with his arms folded over on it? I was floored when I heard that. Your grandfather sounds like a wonderful man, and I hope his end was easy and peaceful.

  • Those who are listening to this piece as a tribute to dear and beloved Prince Alireza Pahlavi who listened to this symphony one night before he took his life (on 3rd of Jan 2011), please thumbs up.

In memory of Prince Alireza Pahlavi, the younger son of the last Shah of Iran.

  • I don't remember. Did they play this at YTSO 2011?

  • @nickr753 Haha, thats true :D but utlimately those are the points of a conductor :)

  • @Chazoboist Yeah, but as far as the timing's concerned... Look at the hit at 1:25 - watch it once looking at Bernstein, but then watch it while looking at the concertmaster... I think I know who was controlling the timing there. :P

  • @MrRahuqraf I listen to both classical music and underground rap, so you'd better come off prejudices!

  • The Vienna Philharmonic are playing only Strauss… that's what many people think but thats not true :D… They're playing so many other things as well.^^ This one is good proof for example

  • Ich liebe diese musik, weil ich denke dass wenn du hasst einen mal das horen,

du kannst allen deinen dunkler vergessen fur eine kleine zeit!!
