Inner Ward - http://www.BAZHE.com

The Tower of London's inner ward was created during the reign of Richard the Lionheart when a moat was dug beyond the innermost ward, effectively doubling the size of the castle. Most of the work of Henry III survives, and only two of the nine towers he constructed have completely rebuilt. Between Wakefield Tower and Lanthorn Tower, the wall of the innermost ward is also the curtain wall of the inner ward. The main entrance to the inner ward would have been through a gatehouse, most likely in the west wall on the site of what is now Beauchamp Tower.
