  • Japan as far as I know.

  • I've been playing with the camera and its great, really quick and sharp. The first thing I noticed besides the fact that its slightly smaller than the A300 is the AF.

The auto focus is great and a lot sharper and quicker. The fact that one loses a minimal amount of light because of the new trans glass is unnoticeable and not an issue at all. The battery is smaller which concerns me since there is more of a power demand for the LCD and EVF.

  • Under my A55 it says Thailand

  • oh ok

  • @xxxXXXCH04XXXxxx cheaper

  • do u know why it was made there and not in japan like the others alpha?

  • I read in wikipedia that the a55 was made in thailand O_o

  • Is the software good?

  • @vipinchaudhary263 Thailand

  • great to see the size compared to other Sony a cameras.. i came from the Canon 550D which was a little bit bigger and felt more rugged. I actually believe that Sony have built the a55 to small and I really do not know the reason why because a DSLR type camera is never ever going to be as small as a p&s because of the lens.

We really need a big battery and theres no battery grip coming.

When I put my big lenses on the a55 it looks ridiculously small and I have to mount a Manfrotto base plate.
