In this extract from Lesson 2 of the Ski School Beginners app, Darren Turner, talks about the transition from snowplough to parallel skier. Once you've started to commit more to your downhill ski in a snowplough turn, your skis are naturally going to start drifting in to a more parallel position. Here's how you deal with it.
Ski School Beginners will take you from your first time on snow right through to introducing a basic parallel turn. Carefully designed lessons will complement on-slope tuition with a qualified instructor and cover all the basics: putting your skis on, straight runs, snowplough, turning and will give you the skills to feel confident and in control.
The stunning videos are accompanied by intuitive cue cards to help reinforce the topics and enhance your learning experience.
Get Ski School Beginners now and join Darren Turner on his quest to make you a confident skier.

@Eastfootball The principles of skiing are exactly the same as snowboarding, apart from the two obvious differences, you have 4 edges as opposed to 2 and you're facing forward as opposed to sideways. The fact that you've already slid down the mountain will help enormously as you already understand things like line choice and speed control. This will allow you progress much faster than somebody who has never boarded or skied. Also try our "Ski School" Apps from the iTunes and Ovi App stores.

We like our Ski School app logos too, but we're not sure if they are worth having an argument about!

Hi I have a question. When you are about to make the turn, do you put pressure on the downhill ski or the uphill ski? If you are turning to the right, you put your weight on your left foot, right?
