Product Review of the plumbing repair tape called MAGIC TAPE, purchased at Lowe's Hardware for about $7. Just thought I would share my point of view as an average homeowner. I have seen similar products sold as marine tape, some mighty tape or other type of "wonder tape" as seen on TV Mighty Fix-it Tape. Not sure if those are similar or not, but the descriptions sound like they work in the same way as this product. I used it to repair a leak in some PVC plumbing under my kitchen sink and it worked like a charm.

  • I think normally a leak is fixed with a pipe clamp or a saddle clamp. It might be a good idea to still come back with the clamp over that tape. Saddle or pipe clams are found at hardware stores.

  • Yea, I just got done wrapping a drain pipe under my sink with the stuff; well it's called Wrap Fix Tape by Duck. It is in the elbow part on the bottom so I'm interested to see if this stuff works. The pipe above that is wrapped with something that looks like this but has hardened solid.

Thats some good news about this being a perma-repair. Heh I hope it is :)
