  • no one can shave after honing with a 3000 grit. LOL

After 15 years of shaving with a straight razor, I have yet to cut myself, or even suffer a razor burn. Guess it does work.

  • Dude, you are hurting the straight razor community by posting these instructions. Someone new might try and actually shave with a razor honed on only 3000 grit hone. It is impossible for a SMOOTH shave. You can shave off of that, but if you tried it with a much finer stone you would see so much improvement. The bevel should be very shiny like a mirror. You also have to strop it before you shave, there is no way you can without.

If that rouge is similar to the Dovo red, it should be similiar to finishing on an 8k stone.

  • @antagonizerr may be I should shut my mouth, and give it a try then. :-D

  • Terrible advice.

  • 3:35 to 4:45 chipmunk

  • i know how to shave without stroping the knife,, use a razor blade instead, gilette would be fine

  • Just like to mention as I dont think you did unless I missed it. You shouldnt touch the edge of the razor after you have completed sharpening it. You test it out by shaving. Its not a matter of cutting yourself, its a matter of preserving the edge, and most of the time when people touch it, its gets destroyed. Either by the actual touch, or by the corrosion caused on the edge that is so fine, from the oils in the fingerprint.

So, anyway, after done honing razor, you shouldn't touch t.

  • I KNOW RIGHT
