Driving Test #3: Parallel Parking

How many moves should it take for a driver to Parallel Park? How far should the tires be away from the curb? This video answers those questions and demonstrates how to Parallel Park.

This video shows the driver parking behind a lone vehicle. While this approach is used in the Washington state driving test, it is not the only way the test is performed. Rather than parking behind a lone vehicle, the driver might be asked to park between two stanchions.

So I really don't understand what you do when there is a car behind you. You just let them pass you even if you are already next to the car you want to parallel park behind? Please explain! Thanks!

@laifsesnes Yes. And make sure your turn signal's on so that the driver behind you is aware of your intent to park.

They forgot both signals. She needed to have a right signal turning into the spot and a left signal when merging back with traffic.

man every youtube video is saying to put your car beside the car youre parking behind, but my instructor told me to match the side mirror with the back seats (i think its harder), so idk which technique works better
