http://www.thenaturalguide.com - Low stomach acid causes most Acid Reflux symptoms, according to Dr. Patti Kim, ND (Naturopathic Doctor). In this video interview, Dr. Kim discusses:

1) The symptoms of Acid Reflux, including burning, heat or pain sensation in chest and/or throat area, regurgitation, belching due to the sphincter being weakened, feeling full sooner than normal, chronic sore throats or laryngitis.
2) The conventional treatment for Acid Reflux, including calcium carbonate antacids such as Tums, Maalox, Mylanta; or proton pump inhibitors such as Prilosec, Nexium, Prevacid and Protonix.
3) That neutralizing stomach acid or stopping stomach acid production with artificial drugs can be harmful to the body because of the numerous side effects associated with the drugs, and that this type of conventional symptom treatment does not treat the root cause.
4) That stress is a primary cause of lowering stomach acid.
5) That stomach acids leak into the esophagus because of a weak sphincter (often due to stress).
6) Factors that influence acid reflux: poor nutrition, foods that cause inflammation, eating spicy foods and alcohol.
7) Natural Medicine treatment of acid reflux includes: stomach pH may be tested; goal is to raise stomach acid (or lower if too high) through dietary changes, exercise, herbs, nutritional supplements, digestive supplements and Homeopathic remedies.
8) Especially important is removal of processed foods and eating whole, organic foods.
9) Dr. Kim has a great success rate of stopping acid reflux: most of her patients are symptom free within a week.

  • @MetalD94 I think aloe is great, but diet change is very important. Why not try just plant foods for 3 months and see what happens? But, can't be junk food! And, no fast food! I would do no dairy (or whey) for those three months. If you do this, post back in 3 months and tell us what happened!

  • @LarryCook333 Thanks! :) I'll try it but did you ever hear of aloe vera juice to cure GERD? And also I'm trying to gain wight so is whey Protein Isolate? Ik its from milk but it doesn't bother my stomach only cheese and other dairy products does

  • @MetalD94 Try eating a plant-based whole foods diet, and see if that helps. It probably will. :)
