  • I have this mod in mine :) makes the pedal sound much better! I don't understand why some guys insist the Stock Ds-1 is the best pedal around though?? :)

  • Agree - I no longer have this pedal but it was much better after the modification

  • did you mod the ds-1 yourself? If ya did, is it difficult to install the other LED and toggle? I just installed mine w/ the rectifier mod and it kicks ass. I'm waiting for the tri-gain upgrade.

  • It's no harder to do the switch than it is to do the rectifier mod so you should be fine - enjoy

  • Wow, a one of a kind pedal to say the least. And best part is it can get three times as nasty lol. I noticed throughout the demo the level on the pedal didnt go to high but i got to admit you've certainly got the cadillac of pedals there my man. Awesome playing thanks for the demo.

  • Thanks very much. The rest of the family were downstairs so this was recorded at a very low volume hence the low level, even through my 5 watt amp. It's currently on sale on ebay sitting very cheap at the moment, item number 160188844435

  • nice playing! the tone is really good, too. I bought from Thomann a HB Ga5 too. Well I have a problem with it: about a half of volume its tiny speaker starts to buzz/nasty vibration, on the bass strings especially and more pronounced when I use eq pot or neck pickup.Well, my guitar is not a strat.it's a superstrat with high output humbucker pickups. Pls..tell what should I do? buy an extension cabinet?

  • Keleey

  • LOL @4:54 - quite the little blues singer you got there backing you up!

  • monte allums to me...does alot more stuff to your pedals..

  • Which mod do you think is better between keleey, analogman and Monte Allums? for blues/rock kind of music

  • i have your mod for the metalzone and it is THE BEST sound

  • seriously, listen to my music on youtube, and you'll hear.

however, i must say, at the moment i've got an original made in japan version, and it is different, but more in a way that it cleans up way better.

  • yeah it sounds awesome if you're looking for a horrible, scooped, lifeless, unresponsive, amateur tone

  • I've got one of these now and it's the best dist I've ever used. Very smooth Satriani-esque tones, and the tone knob is worth something now! You can really get some of that Alex Lifeson jangle with it.

  • Man, i think the original is equaly good!

I thought about modding mine, but everytime i considered i tried to make the one i have sound like the modded and i could!!! just play around with volume and tone on your guitar, and you'll see why those people still say the classic ds-1 is still the best!!! even without mod.

I've got the same tone as the one in this clip, with dist to 50%, tone on 15% en level 75%, volume on my guitar on60% en tone on 70%. (gibson flying v on a fender bassman
