After 7 weeks of stem cell treatment, I am walking well with the calipers.

  • Great video! I am a bit curious though since it is a bit hard to really see on the video: Do you have any type of braces on your feet to be able to do this standing and walking? The ones on your legs are pretty obvious but how is it with the feet? Do you have any feeling or movement at all in your feet?

  • hi Paradev1... yes, I have the calipers supporting my feet and legs. I have absolutely no feeling at all in my feet or legs? Its a great feeling to be able to walk around in calipers, I just hope one day I'll be able to walk around by myself again one day. Are you also a paraplegic?

  • Please have a read of my comments above that I replied to Paul from Sydney.

  • I definately think that the intense physio is a major part of getting the hang of walking with the aide of calipers... I don't believe the stem cells had much to do with it. I still don't have any more movement or feeling come back after having the stem cell treatment. Nothing extra to what I had before so I am assuming it was just the physio that helped me get to that stage. Lets hope something better comes along soon hey.

  • do you have a website about your injury stating when it happened what you had before and after your treatment , timelines extra.

which hospital did you go to and what did it cost /

  • I spent 2 months in Dehli under Dr. Geeta Shroff at the Nu Tech Mediworld hospital. It was a great experience, however, like I said before, not much else has come out of it. Walking with calipers does not give you any independence, you have to always hold something, eg: walking frame or parallel bars so therefore you cannot get anything out of a cupboard for example by yourself anyway. The bonus though is being at eye level again with someone, or stretching your entire body. Hope this helps

  • Thanks Asti

For putting your videos on Utube.

Great to know of your experiences.

How long ago did you go to Dehli for treatment?

I understand Dr Shroff will be in Melbourne at a fundraiser this month. The organisers are saying that she has improved some of the techniques.

  • what is "stem cell treatment"?

  • Asti, do you think that it is because of intensive physiotherapy that some improvements happen? I mean, is it possible to do just the intensive physio but not the stem cell and still get the minor improvements people get from Shroff's therapy? Just curious.
