If generated near the surface one would expect a myriad of different fields, like on the Sun (low permeability), while a body with high permeability (as with Fe) would tend to behave like a permanent magnet, bipolar.
A (Birkeland) current running through such object (Planet) would generate a current which would generate an EM field of this character, influenced by uneven distribution of permeability, magnetisable materials and hysteresis.

Something "never" mentioned is magnetic permeability (not conductivity, but yet the same in a sense), magnetic hysteresis, saturation (of the permeable material), and that "magnetic field" is used on "static" or permanent magnets, whereas "electromagnetic field" is generated by movement of charge(s) - thus independent of it being e.g. Iron (Fe) or other magnetisable metals.
Permeability could swallow a field coming from within, like a shielding.
Saturation or generated near surface?

I like this Proverb '' Essencial is invisible''. Your opinion is very interested.I wanna know how between the sun and earth's Magnetic influencing each other.I think Electricity and magnetic are also related ,so thunder must be related in both. Also they're very importani in universe. In Universe there're no sounds, gravity but electricity and magnetic.Like in the water,we use fin to progress fast.if we could find How to progress fast in universe,A warp is not impossible.

The magnetic field will not re assert itself as they say it will simply fail as it has a shelf life. There is no evidence it repairs itself whatsoever. We only assume that as we assume how old the earth is.They arent even sure where the moon came from yet, beings they have changed that theory like underwear 5 times in my life.Science might exccel at technology but when it comes to biology and the natural universe they are stumped and just make things up too sound like they know.

iv always thought the field was caused by convection currents caused by the heat at the centre of the earth, sinking and rising, plus with the spin of the earth mayb...to create a dynamo

earth is an electric motor powered by an autotransformer

Very interesting!
Right
The magnetic field is not strengthening by heat. But, as soon as the Magnetic North Pole arrives at a huge thermal area, it makes it much easier for a huge amount of magnetic "power lines" to align with the rest of the crust. That reinforces the global magnetic strength. The heat of the Arctic Ocean causes magnetic structures in this area to be less frozen and more magnetically flexible. As a result, such an area can adapt more easily to prevailing magnetic direction.

QUESTION and REPLY
Why does the sun produce a MF when it's surface temperature is around 6800°F?
Notice the Protuberances has a magnetic field up to 1000 times stronger than the dipoles.
So "iron" has nothing with the Suns MF to do either.
I suggest: Read the : science27. com to know how this is possible.
