  • Thanks for this great tutorial on metacognition! It's a very interesting to think about how aware you are of what you know. At our company, Brainscape, we help people learn using online flashcards. The user rates the card on a scale of one to five based off of how well he or she knows it, which is putting a lot of what you talked about here in your video to use. Great job on the video and check us out when you can!

  • @theEdTechInsider Thanks for the comment. By day I am a school teacher so naturally this is a topic I studied in college.

  • metacognition started in 1971 by Flavell. It has been around for a few decades. It is just that many teachers don't know much about it. Far fewer put them in classroom practice.

  • weed has been proven to improve meta-cognitive thinking.

  • great information, not complete but a great starting point.

Still, the speaker could have been a bit more enthusiastic or less monotone with his speech.

  • I have yet too grasp the theory that people learn differently.. We may have different individual perspectives but I have yet too grasp the Gardner's theory of Intelligence.. Like for the pool according too Gardner's Multiple learning theories, one would grasp the concept of playing pool through what music, kinisthetics? Why not place the ball on the table place the stick between the fingers, adhere too simple directions.. I think we are making simplistic learning quite complex with excuses..yea!

  • This sounds like something that I learned when studying NLP.

  • I'm making an essay about meta-cognition, and this video has been a great help :)

  • Very good ^^

    Now I know :)
