Cracking a plastic helmet is better than cracking your skull. My best friend could be dead right now if it weren't for her helmet. We were breaking a horse with our trainer and the horse bucked her off into a solid wall. Her helmet was shattered, but she was fine (a little shaken up though).

it not just plastic they are tested and certified, as a jumper my helmet has saved my life multiple times and i never ride without it its "absolutely dumb" to ride without one the girl is only 6 she should be wearing a helmet

Deb Mohon, eleven-time NFR barrel racing qualifier and 1990 World Reserve Champion, died of a head injury in 2003. She was no longer competing at the time of her death, but was training a horse for barrel racing and was not wearing a helmet
but I suppose your child has more skill, and there is no possibility at all that the horse could stumble, or the ground be uneven...naaaah...

@123456789ilovehorses No, this horse belongs to Destiny! She has been riding him for 3 years now and winning more in the poles than she does in the barrels! Ace really likes running the poles and has turned into a pretty nice pole bending horse too!

well when the horse decides to buck the child off i highly doubt if it cares if the kid is cute or not...and who gives a crap if it doesn't look good with western tack ..hello, this isn't a fashion show if you would rather looking good than safety when it comes to riding then you must be idiots.

If that horse had ever bucked in his life or wasn't bombproof, Destiny wouldn't be riding him. She has now been riding him for 2 years and he remains bombproof, absolutely no issues. She competes on him now and she can turn him on and off like a light switch.
