thats true. It's why pride fighters didn't do so good in the ufc.Perfect example-Kazuhiro Nakamura who beat all 3 of the judokans he faced in pride and sangoku. But he got destroyed against every wrestler, boxer or BJJ practitioner he ever faced .Note that henderson is really the only pride fighter who had success and he's a wrestler and boxer not a damn judokan or choi kwan doi or w/e the fuck they study. The only fighter to have minimal success in the ufc using judo is parysian and he sucks
I'm not lost at all. My point was, that when people mention asians, it's usually taken that they mean east asians. They're not talking about Russians or Indians.
And as it stands, "East Asian" martial arts are not as effective, and are not well represented in MMA.
I can only name one Mixed Martial Artist who still trains Karate. You could argue about the roots of BJJ, being as it evolved from Japanese Jiu Jitsu. But Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is effectively MUCH different from Japanese Jiu Jitsu. Muay Thai is technically asian, but you KNOW what I meant when I said asian, I meant eastern asia.
When I say asian, is your first thought India? They're an asian nation. What about Iran? Pakistan? Afghanistan? Israel? How about Russia?
