Hi Team, here's a quick vid from 3M Commerical Graphics on special techniques when applying vehicle graphics. It covers surface preparation and application techniques for complex contours, as well as removal of graphics. 3M films 180c, IJ180Cv3 and IJ380Cv3 are available from Computaleta. Primer is not required for IJ380Cv3!

  • Sorry, video is from 3M and not filmed in HD so wouldn't make a difference...it's a few years old now :)

  • Thanks for the comment tedward73, I haven't heard of that issue before (in New Zealand at any rate) but I will pass onto the guys at 3M.

  • i sent 3M an email regarding the release liner. i doubt they're gonna change it though.... (for the 180C , but i can manage. it just poses problems in some situations. At our shop we only work with 3M..nothing else. Sometimes customers will supply their own graphics for us to install and thats usually when we run into Arlon/oracal stuff.... those films in my opinion aren't as good to work with for wraps.

  • @tedward73 Never worked with Arlon before. Is it similiar to Oracal.? I mean what's the difference to 3M.

I wrapped a few times with oracal. Getting it off again wasn't easy. But Arlon ....hmmm...no expierence with that.

  • Upload video in HD.

  • I have only had an issue with the clear (synthetic) backer. the paper backing has never been a problem.

  • Video is out of sync w/ the sound

  • hey I love 3M vinyl, but why is it so hard to get the backer paper (release liner) off??? everyone elses film i.e. arlon/oracal..it comes off way easier...you should work on that..cuz it pisses me off and sometimes.compromises the install.

  • Thanks for the video....I work for a decal installation company. Ive wrapped a few hundred vans...
