Dick Bogarde, as Franz Liszt, plays special musics in movie Song Without End. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054324/
The actress Capucine appears, as Princess Carolyne.
The great real pianist is the Cuban Jorge Bolet (1914-90).

  • muy buen actor, pero le faltan octavas a ese piano!

  • Upload d full movie please!!

  • I play the piano, and let me tell you, even just to MOVE your hands like Fanz Liszt is a challenge and a great accomplishment by Dirk Bogarde. I wouldn't even attempt Hungarian Rhapsody #2, and I am not surprised to know that Dirk practiced for months just to LOOK LIKE he was playing it (Thank you, Dorsy2.) I don't know how Liebestraum morphed into HR #2 in this scene, though. Bogarde was a consummate actor and never turned in a bad performance. People should see every movie he ever made.

  • @ArthwrH3nry Liebestraum and hungarian rhapsody in c sharp minor

  • what are the name of the pieces? hungarian rhapsody?

  • He "really" played the piano, but the music you hear is by Jorge Bolet. Bogarde studied for months to get the piano fingering right. He hated this movie and said it was terrible dialogue. He was crazy about Capucine, however, and said he asked her to marry him, but "she kissed me and said, gently, 'No.'" She was smart because he was gay, and even though he loved her dearly I don't think it would ever have worked. I adored him.

  • What is the name of the second song that plays Liszt?

  • @maxi937 Actually the other one is Liszt´s Hungarian Rhapsody #2.

  • wow amazing Bogarde!!
