  • Hi, I want to build a lazy bee as my first plane,

Would this be a good beginners plane?

    (P.S. I have flying experience.)

  • @martie076 If you want to follow the complete build, look on the RCMF forum and search for Lazy Bee, Andy Clancy's Finest. There are pictures of the build sequence. Regards, JH.

  • Ok, Just one question.

What is the motor you use for the bee?

  • @martie076 I first used a Thunder Tiger .54 four stroke, which was too powerful. Have subsequently changed to a very old Saito .30 and this is ideal. This Lazy Bee is the 60 inch span version.

  • Ok, thanks. I started building the 40 inch version yesterday, I think i am going to use a ASP 15a motor. (I just want it to fly, i dont need a lot of power.)

  • @martie076 That engine will be perfect for the 40 inch model.

  • A nice video and a peaceful calm plane. Enjoy your video. Thanks.

  • @martie076 Absolutely! It is very forgiving when built to the print. To find out what happens when you change a few things, check out my channel!

  • Ok, Thanks for the info.

  • You will have to build it from plans and it can be powered by glow engine or electric if you prefer.
