Visit http://cookingupastory.com for more videos, and stories. For 4 days in February of 2011, the University of Oregon's Food Justice conference drew leaders together from the sustainability movement, farmers, scholars, educators, students, and others to examine the food system through the lens of community, equity, and sustainability concerns.

  • Thank you for sharing this video. I wish everyone in America would open their eyes and see what is really going on with our food system. Even if I try and tell my friends and family, they don't want to hear it, first step is acceptance.

  • @mrsfinchie It's a very important subject which affects so many people - and will continue to grow. Don't give up, keep the conversation going.

  • Audio problems here. Buzz, low sound levels, cannot correct from my end, sorry cannot view.

  • @slobomotion Sorry you had a bad experience. There is a buzz from the sound system, tho I'm able to follow what they say throughout the video.

  • @CommentorX The universities in France are not subject to French labor courts at all. I did alert the Work Inspector. Correctly, in French, in writing, by registered mail. I also met with Nanterre in January and was promised full pay in February. Liars. I have a LOT of vids up on YT about this, also on Dailymotion. I have two channels here and also a website.

  • @CommentorX They normally only pay twice a year here for guest professors in France and once per year in Italy and I have heard of people never being paid by Italy. The prof before me in Villetaneuse was attacked by a gang along with her students and extorted and she ran off. I was the first prof they'd gotten in a long time. As of now, three lectureships, none of the students have their grades. This was L'Université de Paris!

  • @CommentorX I lost two guest professorships in France late last year and am still not paid cuz I used web bot as an icebreaker. I was not even given a program to follow for one lectureship in Nanterre. In Villetaneuse, I followed their program but they seemed to have a big problem with my stuff. I also was proposed HALF of what they offered in 2004! Half! And the original price was not even correct! This is L'education Nationale in France and I am STILL NOT PAID. Feh.

  • @cookingupastory I am very tenacious but this was just too much. Probably not your fault. I studied corporate accountability formally and this is a great topic.

  • I'd like to hear more about professors that have lost tenure because of their opposition to Monsanto / deep pockets, Personally, I wonder if academia (pre-tenure, at least) is just about begging for money nowadays.
