The Puget Sound Coast Artillery Museum, the West Sound Military Vehicle Preservation Club and Fort Worden Commanding Officer's Quarters volunteers provided historical displays June 12-13, 2010 at Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend.
The weekend included a ground-to-ground rocket launcher from U.S. Army's Alpha Battery, First Battalion, 94th Field Artillery.
On Artillery Hill, the collection of 28 vehicles and motorcycles on attracted more than 1,300 visitors. There were jeeps, a weasel, mule, halftrack, scout car, motorcycles and trucks of various sizes.
Outside the Coast Artillery Museum along the Parade Ground, Theodore and Edith Roosevelt as he would have appeared during the Spanish American War (1898) were joined by two Filipino Scouts, circa 1899. People in uniforms representing the old Coast Artillery and Field Artillery from World War I provided further historical context.
Look for another event at Fort Worden State Park the same weekend in 2011.
