Making Of Modern Britain Episode List:
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL770E943599612C64

In the first of a six-part series, Andrew Marr revisits Britain at the dawn of the 20th century. He finds the country mourning the death of Queen Victoria; fighting an intractable war against the Boers in South Africa; enjoying the bawdy pleasures of music hall; and worrying about the physical and moral strength of the working class.

There are stories of political intrigue between David Lloyd George and his arch enemy Joseph Chamberlain; the beginning of the struggle for women's suffrage; and an account of the day Mr Rolls met Mr Royce and kicked off a revolution in motoring.

  • Furthermore, Niall Ferguson is an unusually talented person with great gifts in the fields of analysis, oratory and writing. I think that is obvious to anyone with an open mind. You may disagree with some of his conclusions, but it is an undeniable fact that his books are well-researched, and often written with a lot of flair and originality. He is also a Harvard professor, and Harvard is, generally speaking, not a conservative, but rather a "center-left" institution.

  • @TheRiobezerko I would refrain from branding people I dislike or disagree with as "garbage." The twentieth century showed us what that mentality can lead to when it is taken to its logical conclusion by people with power (the Armenian Genocide, Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, Mao's China, Pol Pot's Cambodia, etc.) Huminity does not consist of left-wingers who are, as you seem to be implying, always right, and right-wingers who are always wrong.

  • Did anybody else notice the trolling aeroplane at 00:02 ? No. just me, okay...

  • @EdmundSchilvold Absolutely not. lol Ferguson is right-wing garbage.

  • Excellent. Thank you!

  • A caricature. Listen to Niall Ferguson instead.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!

  • Thanks for the post
