  • the asian correct players. But no feeling.

  • Thanks! You must have great ears.

  • Did I miss something? Video a bit low in sound. Would love to watch this in high volume. Hey nice work; keep it up and agree with "DesireeDeFete" user below.

  • I know it is very quiet in the beginning. But please be patient because it will get louder gradually. I think this is one of the best music ever written for the organ.

  • oakberry, yeah cortege is a funeral processional, and a litanie is a prayer, used many in the catholic church. It's a prayer which alternates between an invocation, and a response. It's repeated, hence, the theme over and over again.

  • Isn't this the organ that used to be played every Sunday by the late Nita Aikens?

  • Perhaps we can offer something constructive, rather than just criticizing the performance out of hand. There's no need for a "syrupy" interpretation, any more than a metrically strict one. Slight flexibility in the approach to rhythm, and a less hurried articulation of phrases will bring this to life without being cloying. Artistry is about subtlety.

Regardless of the notion of strict French timing, the performance by Dupre himself is somewhat flexible.

  • No good!! Too much Slow!!!

  • Ha! Look at that tiny score. No thank you. I need something a little larger than that.

  • nice lookin organ

  • This video gave me reason to upload the version for Organ and Orchestra (original by M.Dupre)See above.

  • Kiyow: Really very beautiful! Actually alohajoe, I disagree with you. The french are incredibly strict with timing. They hardly even take time like we Americans would. They think it is too "syrupy". Also, Dupre didn't have the kind of mixtures we have here in the states. Cavaille-Coll organs, and all french organ literature is based on reeds. Franck considered the 8' oboe to be a principal stop! kiyow, your performance is better than many western musicians! Congrats!

  • The chinese governement should stop prosecuting, harrassing and even torturing chinese catholic ; so they could rebuild churches in which they could put theses organs.

An organ out of a church, its' like ... what can I say ? The strings of a violincello putted on a table.
