A pair of ICE GP9s in Soo paint head north light across the UP East/West mainline in Clinton, IA on 062006. This is what trains are SUPPOSED to sound like!

  • Yes, exactly! It would definitely be nice to get an organization put together for the preservation of the high-nosed Geeps, and their continued operation.

  • I agree 100%!!! GP7,9,18's are the best.

  • Cool! Thanx fur sharin'! 5 thumbs up!

  • great video!

  • Yea in Erie,IL I railfan Clinton all the time.

  • Check my video response if you "really" want to hear what a branchline GP9rm sounds like with it's original 567c engine intact on light rail

  • Yes there is. Try covered wagons slugging their guts out on a good hill. Or a high-wheeled Northern, hooked up tight at about 35 miles per hour.

  • I saw them too.

  • I saw these over in Norpaul yard just before they picked them up about a year ago. Very cool to see them running. I thought they where going to NRE to be parted out!

  • I miss the sounds of Alco switch engines in the yard at Stevens Point.
