RODAN (trailer 1956)

When a village is besieged by giant caterpillars, a more horrifying discovery is made in their underground home...a giant flying creature that resembles the prehistoric pterodactyl. Soon after, a second Rodan appears and the two monsters begin to destroy Japan.

I remember in those old Toho movies,Rodan would have to step it up a notch,when,Godzilla and Rodan would fight Gidorah. Gidorah could fly faster than Rodan and Rodan would be going all out just to stay in sight of Gidorah. I still get a kick out of those flicks,rubber suits,Plaster buildings and model tanks and planes,along with,all those Pyrotechics ,for low tech special effects,the Japanese film industry took it to the nth level.

I remember seeing this on Million Dollar Movie about 1960.

When I was kid this was my absolute favorite. I never even knew it was in color - only saw it on our black and white TV. The blowing-away effects are still far superior to Godzilla's bad breath.
