Lol, this is pretty funny. All the driver had to do was turn off the traction control. When the FX's passenger front tire and driver's rear tire got off the ground for whatever reason, the computer "senses" this spin and throttles the accelerator way back and keeps the wheels on the ground from free spinning. Turning off traction control enables ALL four wheels to get full power. If it was "stuck" then all four wheels would have been spinning. Think about it.

@chemao1978 the awd lock only locks the front and rear axles together. it does nothing to lock the axle differentials themselves

He wasn't stuck - he was hung up. The FX35 has far less ground clearance than an SUV intended for off-road, use and when he went over the hump he got hung up in the middle, or what we typically call "high-centered". It doesn't matter whether you have 2WD, 4WD or AWD if you get high-centred like that - the issue is ground clearance.
