The neo-latin peoples are descendants of the European populations latinized during the Roman Empire.Their languages, part of the Romance branch of the Indo-European language family and as such, share many similarities. This series is devoted to them, attempting to show:
a)Folklore, traditions and culture
b) Faces of ordinary people of today, human landscapes
c) Famous people of that ethnicity, in different fields.
All racist or otherwise hostile and derogatory comments will be promptly deleted, as will any history and politics-related polemics. The purpose of this video is to show people and their culture(s), their beauty and inherent dignity.

The Portuguese are the descendants of the inhabitants of the Roman province of Lusitania.

the romans and the arabes had empires...they didn't came here with there population...they would conquer the lands with the people in them... only the lusitanians, celts and visigoths mixed in what is now Portugal. That's way most Portuguese people have brown mixed with green eyes. way brighter eyes then the spanish(were arabes instaled people from north africa). So yes, Portuguese are celtic, more celtic then iberian even... and rarely with arab mixed.

@CrisFerry problem is when the muslims invaded Portugal, because we play the bagpipe (portuguese bagpipe) we have celtic dances, ruins of celtic populations, and the Romans described us as a celtic people!

@kenzoyur - In addition, there are several million people which speak our language in Africa (Angola, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Equatoria, São Tome & Príncipe) as well as in Oceania (East-Timor), and in Asia (MACAU-in China, next to H.Kong - and in GOA-India) - altogether we are a global community totalling over 230 million people.
