Obama from a labor rally in Chicago in 2003. Obama wasn't on the program or planning to speak, but Congressman Danny Davis had taken him to the rally and asked him to come up and say a few words on the spur of the moment. To my knowledge, this video hasn't ever been shown anywhere, and it's kind of fun, showing Obama at his fired up progressive best.

Yeah, he's much more conservative now. I still tend to believe he's fairly liberal in his heart of hearts, but he's governed almost center-right. It is hard to tell, though, with the Republicans moving so far to the right they're falling off the cliff.

Anybody notice what this impromptu speech had that his presidential, and election speeches didn't? Strength, energy, no pauses, no AH'S or UM'S, no careful words, no cold expression, stiff movements. A brief, very breif view into his real public personallity.

this is the rawest video I've seen of Barack Obama just from a public speeking perspective... he clearly learned alot about speech during his senate campaign because just 1 year later he gives that epic convention speech
