  • There's no need to apologize. Thanks again for your input. Take care.

    Tony

  • This cover would be better if mixed better. The drums are de-emphasized in this cover and the groove set up by the drums in the original really are integral to how great it is. Here the vocals overpower the drums and guitar/base and it just doesn't get that sweet groove of the original. Possibly the fault of the sound mixer or perhaps a singer insisting the sound mixer pump up the vocal track. Could be decent cover, but not the way it's now mixed. Honest critique, not just dumping on the cover.

  • Thanks for the critique, but this was a just a pre-recorded karaoke track with my vocal added to it.

  • Woah, this is such a good cover, of such a good song.

  • @pinkfloyd697 Thanks Jeff. I love performing this song on my gigs.

  • Awesome, only good version of the real thing I could find.

  • Thank you so much. You made my day.

    Happy Holidays.

  • why would this be titled as americas sister golden hair when it is very clearly not

  • I thought it was pretty good. That said, it seems like you're trying to throw vibrato in there. If it comes naturally, let it. But, don't try to force it.

  • A nice job given the facts and I hope my words did not wound your ego at all. I play the drums so I know that criticism can hurt when you are doing your best (and I also get annoyed when I feel the drummer is getting short-changed in a recording which is why I said something in the first place ;-}. Nothing personal. Nice job and take care.

  • That explains a lot. I listened to your cover again and given that the mixer did not have separate tracks for all of the instruments he was in a Catch-22 with the levels because the (damn) tambourine is way too loud (probably to help the time-challenged karaoke/drunk singers aware of the beat) and if he tries to match the drums and guitars to your sound level then the tambourine becomes absurdly loud. There's sofware that can level out the tambourine, but production cost start going up, up, up.
