Anime: Azumanga Daioh
OST: Azumanga Daioh OST 1 (2002)
[audio]

Azumanga Daioh (あずまんが大王, Azumanga Daiō) is a Japanese comedy manga written and illustrated by Kiyohiko Azuma. It was published by MediaWorks in the shōnen magazine Dengeki Daioh from 1999 to 2002 and collected in four tankōbon volumes. It is drawn as a series of vertical four-panel comic strips called yonkoma and depicts the lives of a group of girls during their three years as high-school classmates.

It was adapted as an anime, Azumanga Daioh: the Animation, which was produced by J.C.Staff and aired from the week of April 8, 2002 until the week of September 30, 2002. It was broadcast on TV Tokyo, Aichi Television Broadcasting, Television Osaka, and AT-X in five-minute segments every weekday, then repeated as a 25-minute compilation that weekend, for a total of 130 five-minute segments collected in 26 episodes. The compilation episodes, which were the only versions to include the title and credits sequences, were released on VHS and DVD by Starchild Records; the five-minute segments can be distinguished by their individual titles.

  • @reddragon56789 Don't worry, it's completely unfounded.

  • @Ryukachoo As soon as I read this I got totally depressed. Way to kill tha happy mood. ._.

Especially since I haven't finished the series yet! C'mon man! Sheesh. LOL.

  • there was a rather unsettling and bittersweet theory about this show. apparently the bus they get on at the end of the series crashed along the way, killing all of them. This ending song is them reuniting in heaven to hang out forever.

  • I absolutely loved this anime!

Now that I'm a senior in high school I'm re-watching this anime and i'm not going to waste my time anymore and i'm going to live my last year of high school to the fullest! This anime brings back so many memories..mostly of sitting around the house XD but I will make my own memories with my high school buddies >.<

  • This anime was so sad in the ending now me graduating..i don't feel the same way towards the people like chiyo did...man i can't believe it's been so long i forget her name... anyways, it may be a sad experience to me. But it must be sadder for her seeing as that poor little girl is still a little girl and has yet to live out her childhood fully.

  • Such a great ending to each episode. :)

  • :DD
