  • I remember this show being on weekday afternoons from 12:30 - 3:00 back in 1987.

  • i was referring to "lanigan at large."

  • I remember a show on WUAB called Lanigan At Large. It was on in the evenings and was sort of a variety/entertainment show. I'm guessing mid to late 70s. No one seems to remember this.

    Someone help out! :)

  • i recall the show as being on sunday nights. never saw it, though.

  • What year was this from? I have a slide for the Prize Movie, but Lanagan didn't have that huge head of hair on that slide!!

  • this would have been from '83 or very early '84. one way to track down the date would be to find an old tv guide and match the wuab schedule with the faces on the wheel.

  • @marcsdriver

'Raunch Radio' became popular in the 80s with its insulting, crass humor. Radio programming in Cleveland and elsewhere jumped on the bandwagon. In the old days, Lanigan would do some humorous 'knuckleheads in the news' clips. Later, that segment became demented with sick and morbid stories that were in no way humorous.

  • I watched this show just about every day growing up, and I never once saw anyone guess those ridiculous movie clips.

  • haha 420

    im so cool

  • The kid's proud to tell the story about his sister, and Lanigan is laughing like a mule in his face.

  • You know I used to have WUAB-TV on Time Warner Cable, channel 7 (untill WYTV filed protection) and used to watch the prize movie before the cartoons on summers, days off from school, and sick days. It was very fun to see them try to guess everything. I guess times and tastes changed in the 1990's with the Trash TV boom.

  • I remember watching this back in 74 or 75 when I wasn't at school or outside playin:) When did this go off the air?

  • I was so young (3 or 4) the last time I saw this, I found it on accident. I remember the guy with the big hair- but never knew who John Lanigan was. I remember the Prize Movie, the spinning wheel, that "boioioing" sound (3:48) when the people got a question wrong, and the loud trumpety (is that a word?!) music...

    THANKS FOR THIS POST!

  • The same Dan O'Shannon who later moved to Los Angeles to write episodes of "Cheers"?

  • 1:31 'SURE' Ha ha ha!!

  • Lanigan is nothing but a OLD jack ass. He used to be alright but when Howard Stern came to Cleveland Lanigan tried to be him. I think as far as his show on Lanigan and Malone it's Malone that carries the old man through the show. Malone could have a better show without the old man. I would rather listen to am static then to listen to Lanigan
