This video is in response to the excellent Nelliediddle, who tagged me as part of the "I like..." phenomena going around Youtube at present.

Nellie's channel (which is well worth a visit, by the by):

You usually won't find me responding to these things; I'm not fond of the whole "tagging" phenomena in general, but this one seemed like alot of fun.

The short story at the beginning of the video is "In Vermis Veritas," a short story by the author Poppy Z. Brite, that can be found in her collection "Self Made Man."

As for those I tag in turn, please feel under no obligation whatsoever to respond; since I rarely do myself, I cannot expect it of others:

  • Hey George,

Awsome video!! We have a lot in common. I like disturbing horrific images as well....go figure, lol! I know you like poetry, but have you ever considered writing a insanely grotesque and disturbing novel? I would love to read it and I bet many others would as well.

  • Hey Dan,

Thank you; very happy that ypu enjoyed it. I actually write fiction alot more than I do poetry; I've wanted to be a published author all my life. Most of what I write is incredibly surreal horror/fantasy stuff; I'm actually just collating and re-drafting a colection of short stories called "Strange Playgrounds." hopefully I'll be able to find someone willing to take a chance on it :)

  • Hey George,

wonderful and great performance, like the way how you pronounce the words and the colour effect reemphasizes the feeling of dread while the accentuation itself is accompanied by its profound meaning... transforming her words into clinking knives followed up by their helplessness edges of expanding attraction and insatiable desire for the darkness, it makes the audience submissive to the flesh and breeds curiosity in the brain. Exquisite source you've chosen. 5*+ fav.

  • Hey Kai,

Thank you; I'm extremely happy that you enjoyed this one; I thought elements of it might appeal to your aesthetic tastes :)

  • I didn't recheck all the doors and windows but I may have glanced around a bit. :)

  • Superb! Did you find the final scene as flat out terrifying as I did?

  • Thank you! I watched it (Noroi) last night and really enjoyed it.

  • Couldn't agree more. It's a shame how horrible the horror movies are getting these days.

Like I was checking out here the re-make of Last House on the left(well, the death scenes), and they are just so silly. In the original it was sooo brutal and gory and realistic deaths. If you have not seen it, you should. Definetly one of my Top 10 horror movies.

  • Hey there Grandall,

Considering the confluences in our tastes, that sounds like a great idea :) We certainly wouldn't be stuck for conversational material.

    George

  • Particularly considering the "Evil Dead" references :)

I'LL SWALLOW YOUR SOUL!!! I'LL SWALLOW YOUR SOUL!!

  • Hey there Doddi,

Thank you very much indeed for the kind words. I do love me some horror, but I'm rather picky about it :) I only like the really good stuff; I cannot abide watered down horror or horror that pulls its punches.
