I think it is sad when people produce a video and use a very serious crime like rape to get their point across. Rape is a crime and it should not be used as a weapon to prove your point. Shame on you producer for your selfish use of this very important issue.

I'm trying to get the point across that rape is not romantic. I'm trying to make people aware that it is a violent crime and that portraying it as anything other than violence is harmful. I think it's sick for a television show to have a rape victim paired romantically with her rapist.

And before you get all self-righteous on me again, let me just tell you I have nothing but respect for rape survivors. I even have close family and friends whom have survived a rape and they applaud me for taking part in Rape is NOT Romance b/c as long as there are misconceptions about rape, then it will continue to happen and the media will gloss over the issue unless there is a major story to be broadcast around a particular rape trial.

The entertainment industry will continue to glamorize it and you know what? Some men seem to have this sick idea that women secretly enjoy it. Now really, which is more harmful? My video, or the storylines the clips came from?

Sometimes i can't even understand how she managed to forgive him and marry him but she did and her life is one of the happiest I have ever seen. Love is very strange....

Forcing a woman to have sex is rape. It doesn't matter if it is emotional force like EJ blackmailed Sami with. Or physical force which Alan raped Sami. Or drugging like Sami did with Austin and was pretending to be Carrie to have sex with him. All of it is rape!!!

But unfortunately I understand why the Soaps sometimes romanticize it . My friend was raped by someone very close to her and later she and her rapist married. They now have 3 kids and are about to hit their 10 years anniversary.

Thank you making this video.I'm writing a paper on Alan raping Sami because I think it started that very destructive spiral she went in. (One trauma too many.) I don't like EJ and Sami for the simple fact I wouldn't like Sami and Austin: rape is rape. It's not romance. Yes, Luke and Laura did it, but I'd never that was right either. EJ absolutely raped her by taking away any free will. He manipulated her trying to get Lucas to safety into rape by forcing her to choose herself or Lucas. Not okay.

I think that the thing EJ did to Sami was rape.

A friend of mine, who WAS raped, clarified to me that EJ DID NOT RAPE Sami -- Sami accepted a deal. My friend feels that saying "EJ raped Sami" diminishes her actual rape. Sami could have said no & walked away. My friend could not. (EJ only used a gun to get past the checkpoint.) Sami needed EJs help to save Lucas, and accepted a sex deal.

It's still HORRIBLE -- he used psycho blackmail against a vulnerable Sami to have sex w/ him. EJ was still a detestable foul miscreant, but not a "rapist".

Thank you PrncssEternity for making the video. I understood the point you were trying to make. Some people just don't get it and use the excuse that this is a soap. TV is a reflection of society. If we accept rape as romance, then I just don't want to think it. Like I said, I shake my head and will continue to say it is pretty pathetic.
