@vikingsallday005 IDK why. But there are 43 drivers so all we know is that they were the bottom 2 on qualifying.

Almost 11 years since. If Dale survived, he probably would have just retired within the last 3 years or possibly, just maybe, still be racing today. But let's face it, he was around for over a decade, he would have retired any time soon from now.

I was not into racing until I heard Dale, Sr died.

I was at this race and became a fan of Dale Sr. WHILE watching (was watching stewart till he wrecked). IMO nascar needs to revert back to this style of SS racing, with the new safety rules an accident that took Dale Sr. is extremely unlikely to happen now-a-days. Open the plates and put the roof air-dam back on!!

8:18 the ticker says that both Sadler and Mayfield (or Methfield, as some people like to call him now) started 42nd. WTF!?

This was one of the best races ever until turn 4 of the last lap.
