  • @amixofeverything spent many years in -50 centigrate canada. mineaoplis is pretty harsh too.

  • @circusboy90210 Obviously you've never been to Alaska. Florida is for pussies. Alaska is for men, and Alaskan girls in the fishing industry are hot. You'd have to leave the comforts of the states to realize that, though.

  • @msjkd93 so your saying the money is good but not likely to get killed ? think I'll stick to florida where the weather is nice & the women have all their teeth. (not saying that women without teeth don't have their merits.

  • @circusboy90210 it doesn't

  • how does shrimp fishing in florida compare to this?

  • more for the experience than for the money.

  • Boredom. Sheer boredom. First thing most people do is buy a laptop or an X Box or something, which includes the cost of wiring the money and/or shipping. Trust me, you may go there with the idea of saving money in mind, but two months in cabin fever sets in. You look at the fever, you look at the bank account, you settle on a laptop. Everyone has a laptop.

For the older crowd, it's the bars and the tall tales. Drafts border on $5. Do the math.

  • so where did the money all go ?

  • This was actually the sad part of my experience there. Seeing all these fellows that bragged about making 40 thousand dollars in two months.

And then I'd ask, "Well what happenned? With all that money?" And their answers were always evasive and excuse laden. And, well, bottom line was, they were still there, and none of their plans and dreams were met, and they were still working for the man, and most of them were weather beaten husks. And none of them really wanted to be there.

  • I like soper, When he gets pissy while they're fishing. It's pretty funny.
