Why not have a firearm that can perform a wide variety of tasks? By swapping out the fairly inexpensive aftermarket barrels from Mossberg, your shotgun can be used for hunting, deer, duck, turkey, and for home defense. All of these barrels accept either 2 ¾ or 3 inch shells.

  • In regards to the muzzle loader, how accurate do think the muzzle loader is compare to the slug barrel ? Dispite the action getting dirty as you mention. I have 20ga now, but I'm giving that to my son and buying the 12ga for myself with the extra barrels for the same reason

  • @moiecol I haven't had any experience with the Mossberg muzzleloader barrel. I don't thin kit has fiber optic sights (unless they've upgraded them recently). However, for the same price you can get a separate dedicated rifle that will likely perform at least as well as the extra barrel. My muzzleloader cost less than $100. Having said that, I still like the idea of multiple interchangeable barrels. If you remember, I'd be curious to hear what you decide.

  • I've got two of these a 20 and a 12. Plan on getting a 3rd

  • @gmaster45612374 They're solid.

  • @GunsKnivesSurvival have you had any problems putting winchester shells through you're 500? I've had winchester game and target loads jam in my 535 multiple times. But I've never had any problems with remington or federal shot shells.

  • @daleboyrdm I've never had any jams, but I can't remember the ammo types I've gone through.

  • @daleboyrdm Hey man I have a 535 and have never had jams with the winchester shells. I shoot anything I can get my hands on and don't have a problem. The 535 is a 500 action with a different barrel to shot the 3 1/2 shells. I am interested to know if you still have this problem.

  • Only in AMERICA :)

  • Say-Bo

  • also the mossberg is so cheap...........you can be out hunting and drop them in the mud and keep hunting... with a nicer shotgun the hunt stops and you clean the gun
