i was soo busy staring at the guitar i completely forgot what the video was about and barely caught any of what he was saying lol
thats a beautiful guitar right there

@MilitantOldLady i couldnt help but get in the middle here....nothings wrong with using a drill bit, if you watch any pro guitar company they all use the same thing in the factory...now knotting the strings is a preference thing, some use it some dont it doesn't affect the guitar either way....oh and F.Y.I. I'm a graduate from M.I. for guitar luthier
-
@SomethinWild the guitar being shitty has nothing to do with it. if you notice he clamped the 1st fret and pushed down on the 17th so the action isn't a factor, in fact you need to adjust the neck before the action to get a true reading.

the drill bit that they use us specially designed for this, it wont slip and there is no added stress to the tuner if there is no tension on the strings
-
a tuner is not ment to move at that speeds, its ment to be adjusted with minute movements, even if that means winding it up takes a bit longer...with a drill you just add unnecessary stress to the material...not to mention you can damage the headstock if you accidentally slip with the drill
and you dont knot the string because a good tuner head will keep it in place anyway and it stretches and contracts easyer with temperature changes
-
if 10 years makes you an expert.... i must be a master..... professionals use drills to wind strings all the time its not like there using the drill to tune the damn thing, just to get it started to save time. and when you use that method you kind of need the knotting so the strings stay on better when being wound at high speeds. no need to get your panties in a bunch bro
-
yea right, i've only been taking care of guitars for the better part of 10 years...i guess you just know better assface
-
dude... you don't know what your talking about
-
just learn it yourself, its not rocket science
thats a gorgeous guitar!
