Oh, I was referring to WW2. I knew about the history of the Corp in WW1. Although I always heard it was in a diary of one of the German Officers. I was just referring to WW2, as that war was more likely a threat to mainland USA.

@CaptainAmerica322 Actually the marine corps did...how do you think the marines got the name devil dog?? it was the battle of belleau wood the marines fought them on a open field in France, The Marines were getting mowed down by german machine gun fire and more waves kept charging their nests, Scared and Demoralized the german machine gunners called them Tufel Hunden which means "Devil Dog" or Dog of the Devil in German. I know my Marine History because I'am a Marine.
