Broadfield Down again echoed to the crackle of a Rolls Royce Merlin when Bristol International Airport hosted a Spitfire of the Battle of Britain Flight which was hangared overnight at Bristol Flying Centre on 21 May 09.

Spitfire VB, tail number AB910 took off on 22 May and conducted a short display before setting course for Downside School at Stratton on the Fosse near Radstock before making a fly past to commemorate the schools centenary. The aircraft then flew back to its base at Coningsby.
