  • For all the people who are against stem cell research: THESE are the people you're denying. And for what?

  • @TheFranticPedantic In his book, Dr Becker didn't mention haveing any problems with religious authorities, but he did his work in the USa so he must have!

  • @benthejrporter Exactly right. Very scary indeed. It will unfortunately be an uphill battle, but I believe that common sense will prevail. At least, I HOPE common sense will prevail!

  • @TheFranticPedantic That's the problem with the Bible. It's not a "Holy Book" at all! It was written over an almost 1500 year period by dozens of people who never intended for their works to be placed into any kind of anthology. The English language editions have been translated at least three times, from Hebrew, to Greek to Latin and then English. A lot of it is so obscure that the reader can interpret it in almost any way they choose! "Love thy neighbour" can easily mean "Kill Wiches!"

  • @benthejrporter Fantastic work mate! Yes, unfortunately it is the few that spoil it for everyone else. I wonder how many of the naysayers are healthy NOW, but will accept these treatments in the future when they themselves need them? No doubt they'll find a Bible verse to twist around until it justifies their actions. They always do.

  • @bookcreator It's s shame, yes. But luckily more and more people can see through it. 1000's of people demonstrated when the Pope came to Britain last night.

  • @benthejrporter I think it's because, ultimately, stem cell research is ''unnatural'' and ''against God'' in their eyes. They're against it for the same reason they're against birth control, I guess. I don't know; I just think it's really sad that progress is being delayed because of those wackos.

  • @TheFranticPedantic I was very moved by this and made a donation. It is the researchers themselves who are also working on ways to make stem cells without using embryoes so I'd have thought the religious fanatics would approve of it! ;-)

  • @bookcreator It seems to be only religious fanatics who oppose stem cell research. I don't know why, even from their OWN point of view. Stem cells research is finding ways to make stem cells without using human embryoes. Dr Robert O Becker devoted his career to finding ways to make the body produce its own stem cells.
