Ex-CIA Head Defends Torture

Via 60 Minutes/CBS news: "Jose Rodriguez has no regrets about the CIA using "enhanced interrogation techniques" -- methods that some consider torture - on suspected al Qaeda members detained and questioned after 9/11. Lesley Stahl interviews the former head of the CIA's Clandestine Service about waterboarding and other methods he says were essential to getting information from suspected terrorists, and he denies claims that these harsh measures caused detainees to provide false or unreliable information that misled the CIA. In fact, Rodriguez says that high-level detainees Khalid Sheik Mohammed and Abu Zubaydah provided their best information only after harsh treatment, a claim that the CIA's own investigator general has challenged...".* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

Americans are terrorists in their own right except that they have 'law' to back them and to serve as their righteousness. Obviously they use torture to obtain information but do they get arrested for it? No because how can you arrest people who are above the law.

my opinion is that the CIA have used jose as a fall guy, they knew he was of below par intelligence and gave him a key position so if their torture program went wrong they could hang him with it. speaking as a british citizen it pisses me off that America drags Britain into wars against people over human rights violations, yet it admits that this happens. as a side note, Cenk you shouldnt be surprised that someone who is paid to spy on people is dishonest
